7 effective foods for lowering cholesterol

What is cholesterol? How to fight it? Cholesterol is a fatty substance necessary for the proper functioning of the body: it participates in the synthesis of some hormones and vitamin D and is a constituent of cell membranes. Hypercholesterolemia occurs when total cholesterol (LDL plus HDL) is too high. High levels of cholesterol-rich plasma lipoproteins (particularly LDL) are considered among the most important cardiovascular risk factors and can cause very serious diseases such as atherosclerosis. Today we offer a list of foods that help lower cholesterol levels in case the level is too high.
