Air conditioning maintenance is essential in order to avoid health risks. Before the temperatures rise, but also during the warmer months, it is important to periodically clean the filters and the outdoor unit to avoid the accumulation of dirt and dust that would otherwise enter the home. In addition, proper maintenance improves the efficiency of the appliance.
The air conditioner should be placed at a certain distance from people, adequate to avoid being too close to the flow of cold air, which can be harmful to the body. When the unit is in operation, it is also advisable to use blinds and curtains to mimic the exposure of rooms to direct sunlight.
In general, it is advisable to keep the air-conditioning off at night by opening the windows. If the heat is unbearable, to the point that the air conditioner has to be kept on, then it is preferable to set a timer so that the air conditioner switches off during the night and switches on again in the early morning hours. In addition, it is always advantageous to set the dehumidifier mode.
Adjusting the temperature is also crucial, which means not going below a certain threshold. Ideally, the temperature should be set between 25°C and 27°C, avoiding going below this threshold.
As far as the car is concerned, it is optimal not to direct the cold air directly at the passengers, but upwards. To avoid an abrupt transition, it is advisable that the difference between the temperature inside the car and outside does not exceed 5°C, and it is always useful to turn off the air a few minutes before getting out of the car, by lowering the windows: in this way you gradually get used to the heat outside.
